PJ arrests five men for kidnapping a woman in Lorignan. Four weapons seized

The National Counter-Terrorism Unit (UNCT) of the Judicial Police arrested five men aged between 20 and 40 for the attack and kidnapping of a woman in April this year in the Lourinha region.

The victim was suspected of taking drugs from the suspects. The investigation already had three more defendants.

ABOUT CM reported in mid-April about the abduction of this woman. A police source has now explained CM that the victim, who was linked to a drug trafficking network operating in the Western Zone, was kidnapped by members of the group. She was kept at home for two days.

After attacking, they demanded that she return the drugs. During this period, ransom demands were received from the victim’s relatives.

The victim was released when the network allowed him to go home momentarily, leading to a GNR alert.

The UNCT received information about the investigation and then detained one man and two women. Two were placed in a pre-trial detention center.

The investigation continued and on Tuesday the UNCT asked the PNP for assistance in conducting 19 searches in the Lorignan area. Five other suspects in the kidnapping were arrested and a sixth man was arrested for possession of an illegal weapon.

The PS seized four modified shotguns. The suspects were in Loures court on Wednesday.
