Joan Bou renews with Euskaltel-Euskadi until 2024

Joan Bou (1997) will continue next season in the Euskaltel-Euskadi, as announced by the team this Thursday. Therefore, he will complete a five-year cycle with the orange squad. A time in which the Valencian has grown as a cyclist and is one of the trusted men of sports manager Jorge Azanza.

Since 2020 on the team, Bou has become a Euskaltel-Euskadi reference cyclist in the big events on the calendar. In fact, he competed in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Back to Spain, being the protagonist with several escapes. This 2023, he has completed it in a remarkable way, a brilliant tenth place in the Return to Burgos and fourth in the recent Tour of Langkawi. Likewise, he was also 11th in the Tour of Qinghai Lake and 12th in the Vuelta a Asturias.

He is a versatile cyclist, with a climbing profile, who can compete in races for the best possible classification and give the team a presence in quality breaks. His renewal in 2024 gives continuity to that progression and confirms the mutual trust of the rider and the team. His renewal joins those of Mikel Bizkarra, Xabier Isasa, Mikel Iturria and Gotzon Martín.
