Monday evening was a holiday for Porto. The Dragoins de Ouro gala took place at the Stadio Dragão to select those who had distinguished themselves the most in the past year, after the 2020 ceremony was canceled due to the pandemic. Player Sergio Oliveira was one of the evening’s winners, being chosen as Footballer of the Year. “I came to this house 20 years ago, and I am honored to receive the golden dragon presented by the president,” he said. Francisco Conceicao, son of Sergio Conceicao, was also awarded the Revelation Athlete Award. “This is a dream come true, and this is just the beginning. We want to win a lot,” said the 18-year-old.
Fernando Gomes, “Bibota”, received the “Manager of the Year” award. Reynaldo Teles, who died a year ago, was awarded the Memory of the Year award. The children of the former vice president took the stage and received the award from the hands of Pinto da Costa.
