Jorge Roque da Cunha also referred to the strikes carried out this year, noting that they were not “desired” but “necessary”.
“The independent doctors’ union will continue to fight, maintaining authority and softening manifestations of demagoguery, radicalism and populism,” he said.
Negotiations between doctors’ unions and the Ministry of Health began in 2022, but there has been no agreement yet.
