The National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Directorate recorded 394 incidents related to bad weather between 20:00 and 7:00 on Tuesday, most of which occurred in Greater Lisbon and the Setúbal Peninsula.

Speaking to Lusa, Paulo Santos from the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) said that 142 incidents occurred in the Lisbon municipality and 42 in the Setubal peninsula.

Eight areas of mainland Portugal were orange on Tuesday due to wind and heavy rain, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

Areas of Lisbon, Coimbra and Leiria are under a yellow warning due to strong winds forecast, while Vila Real is under a yellow warning due to rain.

Porto, Braga, Viana do Castelo and Aveiro are under an orange warning due to wind and heavy rain.

The remaining areas are under a yellow warning due to the forecast for at times heavy rainfall, the IPMA said. This Tuesday the entire Portuguese coast is also under an orange warning due to rough seas.
