This Saturday, Sporting confirmed the title of national champion in judo among men’s teams, defeating Sport Alges and Dafundo in the finals of the competition, winning three victories in the same number of fights.
This is the sixth consecutive title for the Lions men’s team, also led by coach Pedro Soares and whose third and final match featured Jorge Fonseca, an Olympic medalist and two-time world champion (2019 and 2021).
Thus, Algés and Dafundo finished second, while Academica Coimbra and Lusofona University took bronze in the men’s teams, beating Sintrense and Salesianos respectively.
At the competition, held in Pavilhão Multiusos de Odivelas, the title of champion among women went to Alges and Dafundo.
