José Miguel Sepúlveda and Francisco Fialho, two friends from the parish of Vila de Frades in Vidigueira (Beja), died early this Sunday in a motorcycle accident. The accident occurred near the 281st kilometer of IP2 on the San Manzos branch in the municipality of Évora.
Francisco, 17, died at the scene and the body was taken to the forensic service of the Espirito Santo Hospital in Évora. His friend Jose, 16, was taken to the same hospital with injuries considered serious, where he died.
The alarm was raised to the authorities at 00:51 and firefighters, GNR, INEM ambulance and VMER were mobilized to the scene. The Évora traffic crime investigation team has arrived at the scene and is investigating the cause of the incident.
Yesterday hundreds of messages of condolences appeared on social networks to the families of the two young people. The parish council of Vila de Frades in the municipality of Vidigueira also expressed sadness over the deaths of the young people and warned that the parish flag would be flown at half-mast until the day of the funeral.
