Due to bad weather, two containers fell onto the roof of a car and injured a couple.

This Thursday the couple was left traumatized by “Ciaran”‘s depression. The car they were traveling in was hit by one of two empty containers that fell due to the force of the wind on Avenida Comercio de Leixões in Matosinhos. Before the start of the night, 1,059 incidents were recorded, the majority (234) in the Grand Port. 3,693 operatives took part in Civil Protection actions. Of the incidents, 734 were tree falls, 39 were floods and 13 were landslides. This Friday the weather improves, but on Saturday another depression hits the country, “Domingos”.

In Matosinhos, a 37-year-old driver and a 32-year-old woman were treated at the scene by firefighters following a crash. The port authorities of Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo said they were monitoring the case.

In Porto, a child care worker who was a victim of harassment was treated by INEM after the car she was traveling in crashed into a tree in the Plaza de la République. In Ponte de Lima, two people were not injured after another tree fell.

“We were stopped in traffic and suddenly we felt an explosion. My instinct was to protect my daughter with my body.” Description was made for CM Pedro Lopez after a tree crashed into the car he was riding in with his 14-year-old daughter at the high school.
