CNID – Association of Sports Journalists, accused on Tuesday of attempting to attack journalists in front of the General Assembly (AG) of FC Porto.
“Some journalists, and especially the reporting group from CMTVwere verbally attacked, while fans hit a car and asked journalists to leave the public road,” the CNID said in a statement.
The Dragons’ match did not end due to clashes between partners at the Dragao Arena. The meeting, which began Monday, was not scheduled at that location, but the large turnout prompted the last-minute change.
The association condemns “coercive attempts by some members of FC Porto” and calls for the intervention of the dragons as well as the authorities.
“The CNID calls on FC Porto to include, in the measures announced at the Dragao Arena, a small investigation (nothing more is required) to identify and help bring to justice people who do not have an interest in the sport.”
Even before the meeting began, former Porto coach Andre Villas-Boas said that there were no conditions for it to take place and asked for it to be suspended.
