A woman was injured in a collision between a moped and a truck at the Oliveira do do hospital.

A woman was seriously injured after being picked up by a truck on the EN17 highway at Oliveira do Hospital. The alarm was raised at around 3:45 pm this Wednesday.

Due to the severity of her injuries, the INEM helicopter was called and took her to the hospital and university center of Coimbra.

The accident occurred on EN 17 in Vendas de Galizis. The alarm was raised at 15:42 by the fire commander of the Oliveira do Hospital, who was passing by the scene along with other firefighters who began to treat the victim.

“The woman who was driving the moped looked to be about 40 years old, apparently she was hit by a truck and thrown, she was unconscious but with vital signs,” explained Correio Emidio Camasho, fire chief of the Oliveira do Do Hospital. yes Manha.

During relief operations the road was closed in both directions and preparations were made for the road to be cleared.

The victim was stabilized at the scene by rescuers, who transported him by ambulance to a nearby field, where he landed in an INEM helicopter, which transported him to the hospital and university center of Coimbra.

Ten operators and five forces were on the scene, one of which was an INEM helicopter, supported by INEM and GNR firefighters who are investigating the cause of the accident.
