The Executive Directorate of the SNS published this Friday a new emergency reorganization plan, which states that from November 26 to December 2, 36 points will work with restrictions in some specialties:
Emergency restrictions by region:
Northern region
In the north of the country, the emergency department at the Hospitalar de Chaves will face difficulties in dealing with the specialties of pediatrics and orthopedics: patients will be sent to Vila Real and Porto (Santo António). During this period, the emergency department of the Mirandela Hospital will refer to Bragança for the specialty of orthopedics.
Still in the same region, the Braga Hospital will have difficulty responding to emergencies in general surgery during the week (dispatch to the Sant Joan Hospital in Porto) and on the 27th and 30th in the specialty of gynecology/obstetrics (dispatch to Famalican, Viana do Castelo). , Guimarães and S. João).
In Viana do Castelo, on December 2 the local hospital will face difficulties in pediatrics, sending patients to Braga, while on December 26 and 2 there will be restrictions in the departments of general surgery, internal medicine and Via Verde AVC. Patients will be sent to São João and Braga.
The Via Verde AVK in Guimarães will open on the nights of November 28-29 and December 2, patients will be sent to Braga.
At the Centro Hospitalar do Médio Ave in Vila Nova de Famalicão there will be courses in general surgery (on the 26th and 27th and on the night of December 2), a referral to São João, a pediatric department (on the 2nd, transfer to Braga) and the Department of Internal Affairs. Medicine (day 1, patients sent to Braga).
At the Santa Maria Mayor Hospital in Barcelos, general surgery will always be limited (indicative hospital – Porto – São João). Pediatricians, orthopedists and internal medicine doctors travel to Braga for several days (and nights).

central region
In the Central Region, where there are 17 SNS emergency network points, difficulties arise in the Viseu Hospital department – a multifunctional emergency service for the specialties of general surgery and orthopedics (night hours) and in the Guarda Hospital department (gynecology/obstetrics and orthopedics). , on some days, and in the departments of general surgery, internal medicine and Via Verde AVC during the week).
In the hospital department of Aveiro, difficulties in gynecology, pediatrics and general surgery have been occurring for several days, patients are being treated in Coimbra, and in Agueda they will be in the basic emergency service. In Figueira da Foz, there will be restrictions on some days for the specialties of general surgery and orthopedics, with patients having to be seen in Coimbra.
In Leiria, on some days there will be difficulties with the specialties of gynecology, pediatrics, general surgery and Via Verde Coronaria (patients treated in Coimbra), and at the ACES Dão Lafões – São Pedro do Sul medical center there will be a basic emergency service that is 28 and 30 November will face restrictions as patients will have to be treated in Coimbra.
Lisbon and Tagus Valley region
In the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, where there are 17 SNS emergency service points, there will be difficulties in responding to the Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte (orthopedics, 26th), patients will go to the Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte, as well as the Hospital de Loures (gynecology, pediatrics and general surgery, on some days of the week.
At the Caldas da Rainha Hospital – Medical-Surgical Emergency Service, there will be some days when there will be difficulties with the response in the field of gynecology, pediatrics and general surgery, with patients having to be received in Coimbra, Central Lisbon and Torres Vedras, depending on specialties.
In Torres Vedras, difficulties with response occur during the night shift in pediatrics and on December 1 and 2 in orthopedics. Patients are transferred to Caldas da Rainha and the Central Hospital Center of Lisbon.
In Peniche, on the night of the 26th to the 27th, the main emergency services will experience difficulties, patients will be sent to Caldas da Rainha.
On the 2nd, the department of the Abrantes Hospital will have difficulties with the reception of pediatricians (patients will go to Santarem or central Lisbon).
Santarem will have restrictions in gynecology (night of the 27th) and in Via Verde AVC (26 and 2 December), and patients will be received in Central Lisbon and Cascais.
In Amadora/Sintra, difficulties will arise on some days in the specialties of Gynecology/Obstetrics and Pediatrics, and in García de Orta (Almada) in Gynecology, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopedics and Via Verde AVC on some days of the week. , patients can be seen in Setubal and Central Lisbon.
The Barreiro Hospital ward will be experiencing difficulties for most of the week (except the 26th) in the specialties of gynecology and pediatrics, with patients having to be received in García de Horta and Central Lisbon.
In Montijo, gynecology and pediatrics will face some difficulties, as in the hospital center of Setúbal.
In Northern Alentejo (Portalegre) there will be difficulties in providing general surgery.
Alentejo region
Évora provides training in pediatrics (29 pm), general surgery (every week in the evening and at 26 pm all day), and internal medicine (at night), with users traveling to Central and Northern Lisbon.
The department of the Baixo Alentejo Hospital – Medical-Surgical Emergency Service in Via Verde AVC will experience difficulties during the day of December 2nd. Patients will have to be seen in García de Orta.
Basic emergency care will be available at Estremoz Medical Center on December 1, and patients will be received in Évora.
Algarve
In the Algarve, where there are six emergency rooms, on some days there will be difficulties in two: Faro (paediatrics and general surgery) and Portimão (paediatrics, 26th and 30th).
