Al Nasr, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Otavio and Luis Castro, secured their place in the last 16 of the Asian Champions League after a 0-0 draw with Iran’s Persepolis this Monday. The meeting was broadcast live CMTV.
The Saudis are guaranteed to advance to the next stage with one game left in the group stage. Riyadh are top of the group with 13 points, five more than this afternoon’s opponents.
Neither team managed to score in the match played at Al Nasr’s home stadium. In the 3rd minute, the Saudis could have taken a penalty, but Ronaldo showed fair play.
The Portuguese star fell in the penalty area and the referee awarded a penalty. However, Ronaldo admitted to the match referee that this was not a violation. The decision was later reversed.
