A helicopter crashed on a motorway in Madrid this morning Friday, the newspaper reports. World. There are at least three wounded.
The first two recorded injuries, one with a fractured femur and the other with a traumatic brain injury, were sustained by members of the aircraft’s crew. The third victim was a driver driving along the highway, whose windshield of the car he was riding in was broken.
The fall was probably caused by a strong gust of wind. The accident occurred shortly after the trip began, and during the short trip the helicopter flew very close to a gas station.
The plane was heading to Cuatro Vientos airport in Madrid after participating in the international exhibition European Rotors, held in the Spanish capital.
Madrid firefighters are at the scene providing assistance to the victims. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
The M-40 motorway remains closed and is causing queues of more than two kilometers.
