Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal will return to competition at a tournament in Brisbane, Australia in early January 2024 after almost a year of absence due to physical problems, the former world number one said this Friday.

“Hello everyone, after a year away from competition, it’s time to return. It will be in Brisbane and it will be in the first week of January. See you there,” he said in a message posted on social media. .
On June 2, a few days before he turned 37, Nadal underwent surgery in Barcelona on his left leg to relieve an injury that had struck him since the Australian Open.
The injury forced him to miss the final three Grand Slams of the season, including Roland Garros in Paris, where he won 14 of his 22 major titles.
