The winner of the next Euro 2024, which will be held in Germany, will be able to receive a maximum of 28.25 million euros (ME), UEFA announced this Saturday after an executive committee meeting in Hamburg.
Just hours before the draw for the Euro 2024 final, which takes place this Saturday at 18:00, the UEFA Executive Committee announced that it was keeping the cash prizes the same as at Euro 2020.
Thus, the champion, if he wins three group stage matches, will reach a budget of 28.25 million euros, three million euros more than the defeated finalist, if he also collects the possible nine points in the first stage.
Federations that have guaranteed their presence at Euro 2024 will receive 9.25 million euros for their participation, with a prize of one million euros for a win, which is double the value of a draw.
Participation in the 1/8 finals brings an additional 1.5 million euros, the prize increases to 2.5 if present in the quarter-finals, with each semi-finalist receiving four million euros.
In total, UEFA will distribute €331 million between the 24 teams that qualify for the final stage, which will take place from 14 June to 14 July.
Portugal are in Saturday’s draw in Hamburg as one of the seeded teams at Euro 2024 after a perfect qualification and 10 wins from as many matches.
