An exhibition of 1980s slot machines inside a church located in the Castelo Mágico Christmas theme park in Montemor o Velho is causing outrage among local residents. In December, the Church of Santa Maria de Alcasova was converted into a gaming room with about twenty machines that can be used without using money.
Opinions in the locality are divided regarding the initiative: the population considers it “disrespectful” to use the prayer space for the purpose of a game. “The goal is for this to be a space for the whole family and not to be disrespectful to the church, especially since there is no worship in this space,” he said CM event promoter Thiago Castelo Branco.
