River transport between the southern outskirts and Lisbon will be strengthened on New Year’s Eve, with the last boats leaving Cais do Sodré for Casillas and Barreiro at 4:00 am on 1 January.
Transtejo/Soflusa has published on its official website a special schedule for the early hours of New Year’s Day, January 1, adding that on this day the schedule will operate on Sundays and holidays, but there will be two additional flights from Cais do Sodré to Casillas, at 3:00: 00 and 4:00 am.
On New Year’s Eve, two additional boats will operate between Barreiro and Terreiro do Paço, departing from the south coast at 21:55 and 22:55.
Early on the morning of January 1, two additional boats will also depart from Terreiro do Paço towards Barreiro, at 3:00 and 4:00 am.
According to a note posted on the website, Sunday and holiday hours apply on December 31st and January 1st.
Transtejo is responsible for connecting Seixal, Montijo, Casillas and Trafaria/Porto Brandan in Setúbal district with Lisbon, while Soflusa crosses the line between Barreiro, also in Setúbal district, and Terreiro do Paço in Lisbon.
