United Airlines found loose propellers during inspection of Boeing 737 Max 9

Friday’s crash of a Boeing 737 Max 9, after part of the fuselage and a window fell out, prompted Alaska Airlines to conduct inspections of all Boeing aircraft.

According to BBC, During inspections that began Saturday, the bolts were found to require “additional tightening,” United Airlines said Monday. They add that “installation issues” related to the door plugs will be “resolved” before these aircraft return to service.

“Since we began preliminary inspections on Saturday, we have identified cases that appear to be related to problems with the installation of door plugs – such as screws that needed to be tightened.”

The door plug is a part of the fuselage with a window that can be used as an emergency exit in certain configurations, and it was this part that fell mid-flight and ended up landing in the teacher’s garden.

Some 171 more aircraft of the same type remain blocked by US regulators.
