The surfer was rescued on Furnas beach in Vila Nova de Milfontes.

A 29-year-old woman was rescued today from a rocky area on Furnas beach in Vila Nova de Milfontes, in the municipality of Odemira (Beja), the National Maritime Administration (ANM) said.

The AMN statement explained that a Dutch woman surfing there was rescued by the team at the Sines rescue station after she got into “difficulty” in the water and was “unable to resist the strong current.” Furnas beach.

According to ANM, the alert was issued at 10:15 am through the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Lisboa), which reported that the surfer went missing after he began experiencing difficulties in the water.

“Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined that the victim, a 29-year-old woman of Dutch nationality, was in a rocky, isolated and inaccessible area, and the rescue operation was carried out by the rescue service using a jet ski, taking her to the sandy beach of Furnas,” – the document says.

“The victim did not require medical attention and left the scene on his own,” they add.

AMN also indicates that in the rescue operations, in addition to the brigade of the Sines rescue station, operatives of the volunteer fire department of Vila Nova de Milfontes were involved.
