On Monday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the budget for remuneration of security forces has increased by 32.6% since 2015, when the PS arrived in government.
In an explanation sent to newsrooms on Monday evening, as several protests by members of the PSP and GNR took place during the week demanding higher salaries, the department states that “the budget for remuneration in the security forces has increased by 32.6% – – another 426 million euros (euro) – in the period from 2015 to 2024.”
According to the same note, last year “there was a 2-level salary increase for 1st level specialists of the National Republican Guard (NRG) and the Public Security Police (PSP) – instead of just 1, as for other public administration employees.”
