The script for the series “Friends”, found in a garbage dump, sold for 25 thousand euros

The script for a 1998 episode of Friends was sold for 22 thousand pounds, about 25,500 euros. The script was found in a rubbish bin by an employee at Fountain Studios in Wembley, London.

The sale price was estimated at between £600 and £800 – approximately €1,000. However, auction bids quickly rose, and an unknown buyer eventually received a copy for 25,500 euros.

In accordance with BBC, The auction was attended by 219 people from around the world, and the buyer is understood to be “international” and made the purchase online.

It’s unknown who the original owner of the script is, but the auction house speculates it’s a cast member or someone who worked on the series, says BBC. Hanson Ross, the person in charge of auctions, spoke about this. BBC that “global interest has been impressive.”

The episode of the script, in which Ross and Emily get married in London, was watched by almost 32 million people.

The series originally aired between 1994 and 2004, but was revived in 2015 by streaming platform Netflix and then HBO Max.
