This Thursday, the SP announced the arrest of three suspects in the robbery of a supermarket in Povoa de Varzina on October 12, 2023. The detainees threatened the employee with a pistol and a knife. They stole a sum of cash from one of the establishment’s tills and unsuccessfully attempted to open the safe.
On Wednesday, police began arresting the suspects, and one of them tried to escape by deliberately driving the car he was driving towards the inspectors. After a chase, he was detained in the Mindelo area, in Vila do Conde.
Suspects between the ages of 18 and 47, who do not have any professional activity, who have been prosecuted and have a criminal record for committing crimes against property, will be brought to the first judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
