The body of a man was found this Thursday morning in Praia do Guiribeto, north of Magoito, in the municipality of Sintra, the circumstances of the death are unknown, the police confirmed. CM Commander Marques Coelho, captain of the port of Cascais.
The alarm was raised at 10:15 a.m. and the Marine Police and Sintra firefighters were dispatched to the scene “who will attempt to rescue the body vertically” to the top of a cliff more than 60 meters high. Praia do Guiribeto is a small sandy beach, extremely difficult to reach, at the foot of a cliff.
If this is not possible, “we will try to carry the body through the sea, which is, however, very rough,” with the resources of the Cascais rescue station and the Institute for Victim Assistance at hand, said commander Marques Coelho.
Authorities have not yet arrived at the body and no information is known about it other than it is a man.
