Hours after winning three awards at the Globe Soccer Awards, Cristiano Ronaldo hosted Record’s special envoys in Dubai, David Novo and Paulo Calado, for an exclusive interview.
The awards at the event – Middle East Player of the Year, Maradona Award and Fans’ Favorite Player – set the stage for conversation about 2023, in which CR7 scored 54 goals.
“I know I still have a lot of potential and I know I can score a lot of goals for Al-Nasr and the Seleção.” So it was an impressive year on a personal level,” admitted the Seleção captain. In this interview, Cristiano Ronaldo also spoke about his dream of winning another European Championship with Portugal and closing the door on his return to Sporting. “There is no question of playing in Portugal,” he assured.
Despite this, 38-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, being a Lions fan, praised the football played by Ruben Amorim’s team. You can read the interview on all Record platforms and watch it in full on the channel’s Liga D’Ouro Sunday program CMTV.
CR7 on the award: “Haaland deserves it”
Ronaldo was one of the candidates for the title of best player of 2023, but it was Erling Haaland who received the award. For the Portuguese international it was a fair achievement. Moments before the winner was announced at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards, CR7 pointed to the Manchester City Norwegian and said: “He [Haaland] deserve.”
