The municipality of Porto announced this Wednesday that it will strengthen the street groups in support of the homeless starting at 21:00, with two members of the Civil Protection, two members of the Fire Regiment, two technicians from the Municipal Department of Social Cohesion and two technicians from the street brigades.
“Two interdisciplinary teams, consisting of a total of eight people, will distribute warm clothes, blankets, provide comfort food and hot drinks, while providing intensive monitoring of the most vulnerable people, given the colder temperatures experienced. Last few days. They will also signal and refer to the Planning and Intervention Center for the Homeless (NPISA) in Porto people who express their intention to adhere to the social acceptance measures,” the municipality said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the three charity restaurants of the municipal network – the Interim Reception Center of Joaquim Urbano, Baixa (Passos Manuel Lane) and Batalha – remain open, serving more than 550 daily meals with the support of CASA volunteers.
