Some 10,000 members of the security forces are expected to take part this Wednesday in a demonstration on the platform of the PSP trade unions and the GNR associations in Porto, Paulo Santos of the Association of Professional Police Unions (ASPP/PSP), Luse said.
Protesters began gathering at 16:30 near the PSP Porto Metropolitan Command building, filling the entire Rua Duque de Loulé towards Praça da Batalha at 18:00.
In addition to PSP agents and guard soldiers, there are also representatives of the prison guards, dressed in black and with the word “Abandoned” on the back.
In front of the demonstration demanding the payment of a mission bonus, as the judicial police did, there is a poster with the words “United Police”, and about twenty meters behind another with a phrase summing up the protest: “For suitable wages and professional development.”
The protest is scheduled to begin at 18:45 in the direction of Rua 31 de Janeiro.
