Members of the Super Dragoins, detained as part of Operation Praetorian, are being heard this Friday at the Porto Criminal Investigation Court. Fernando Madureira is the last to be heard and has already appeared in court. The leader of the FC Porto support group is responsible for money laundering.
Miguel Marques Oliveira, one of Fernando and Sandra Madureira’s lawyers, said “Monkey,” as he is known, will speak in court and the woman will not testify. Questioning will continue until Tuesday, but there will be no investigation on Sunday. Eight defendants will testify.
Fernando Madureira is expected to leave court in a few hours as he is not expected to be heard again this Friday.
The first judicial interrogation took place on Thursday. The prosecutor’s office emphasizes the dangers of continuing criminal activity, disruption of the investigation, social anxiety and escape.
On Wednesday, Fernando Madureira, his wife Sandra Madureira and ten other members of Super Dragões were arrested as a result of the PSP mega-operation. Police seized several weapons and drugs, a safe with 50 thousand euros, three high-end cars of Fernando Madureira, as well as computer equipment and items of clothing.
The investigation focuses on attacks recorded at the Porto FC general assembly on November 13 and threats against the club’s presidential candidate André Villas-Boas.
