Judge Pedro Miguel Vieira urgently summoned all the lawyers of those detained as part of Operation Praetorian. The investigation is currently suspended. Four mobile phones contained WhatsApp messages and audio recordings, which the judge regarded as new material.
The interrogation of Vitor Oliveira, known as “Aleicho”, who is already in the Criminal Investigation Court (TIC) in Porto, was supposed to begin this Saturday morning.
The delay can be explained by one of two reasons: perhaps the prosecutor’s office (MP) will demand the release of the defendants or increase criminal penalties.
Authorities conducted checks on detainees’ cell phones, which may explain the judge’s request. Pedro Miguel Vieira will now meet with all the lawyers.
The interrogation of members of the Super Dragoins detained as part of Operation Praetorian continues this Saturday at the Porto Criminal Investigation Court. Fernando Madureira, head of the FC Porto support group, is responsible for money laundering and is the last person to be heard. One of the detainees is already in court.
The first judicial interrogation began on Thursday. The deputy emphasizes the dangers of continuing criminal activity, disruption of the investigation, social anxiety and escape.
On Wednesday, Fernando Madureira, his wife Sandra Madureira and ten other members of Super Dragões were arrested as a result of the PSP mega-operation. Police seized several weapons and drugs, a safe with 50 thousand euros, three high-end cars of Fernando Madureira, as well as computer equipment and items of clothing.
The investigation focuses on attacks recorded at the Porto FC general assembly on November 13 and threats against the club’s presidential candidate André Villas-Boas.
