There’s nothing bad that can’t get worse: Dragons draw without goals in terrible week

Nothing is so bad that it can’t get worse. In a difficult week, and even on a day when the outcome of the match was in doubt, it was the perfect storm for Porto, who could not overcome two disallowed goals and a lack of success in their remaining shots. Another miss and a goalless draw. Goodbye visible header.

In the midst of this chaos theory, Sérgio Conceicao tried to be more practical and put the house in order as in previous games, aiming for the same success. For good reasons or not, the misfortunes did not end with Nobre’s first whistle.

In ten minutes, Porto: awarded and canceled a penalty thanks to Evanilson’s simulation; and the goal was disallowed by VAR due to Galeno being 4cm offside. Insist, persist, don’t give up. The blue and white football even shows off another health: Nico, Chico and Pepe in the center. Opportunities arose, but sometimes Jonathan saved, sometimes the shot was missed, sometimes, for the second time, the goal was disallowed due to offside – now Wendell was ahead.

It’s time to move on to another theory called Murphy’s Law: when something is supposed to go wrong, it does. In the second half, everything is the same, more Porto, but even more Jonathan and nerves, time passes, but no solution is in sight. Sergio brought Jaime, Toni and other replacements off the bench, Boateng was even sent off in stoppage time, but the attacking volume always hit the same wall. A wall that will eventually become a wall of regret for Porto: the gap may become too big to overcome.
