PS Azores filed a complaint against Bolheira for propaganda on election day

PS Azores filed a complaint this Sunday against José Manuel Bolheiro, candidate of the coalition of PSD, CDU-PP and PPM, for “propaganda on election day and within 500 meters of the polling station” on the island of São Miguel.

The complaint is based on “Article 143 of the Electoral Law of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores, based on the content of relevant statements made live on various television channels.”

Boleiro’s statements

The PSD/Azores president appeared calm this Sunday while voting in regional elections in the archipelago and called on Azoreans to vote with “full freedom and citizenship.”

The leader of the Azores Social Democrats spoke to reporters after the vote at 11:15 a.m. local time (12:15 p.m. in Lisbon) at the Fajão de Baixo parish library in Ponta Delgada on the island of Sao Miguel. , where is voting station No. 2.

Boleiro also said that the elections are being held “with maximum organization and calm.”

He then left a message to the voters of the Azores: “Those who have not yet exercised their right to vote should do so, preferably during a period when the weather is better, realizing full freedom and citizenship.”

He told reporters he was not nervous about the electoral vote: “No, I’m not nervous. Obviously, a Democrat knows that anything is possible, and there is always a certain amount of anxiety. But the truth is that I am also calm for people’s decision.”

The leader of the Social Democrats also summed up the results of the election campaign, admitting that he had always sought to avoid “attacking anyone” and, generally speaking, “was civilized.”

José Manuel Bolheiro said he would be with his family and friends in the afternoon, but would still have time to have coffee with Luis Montenegro, the national leader of the PSD, who is in the Azores.
