Elements of the PSP and GNR will return to protests, with pickets at airports and ports on February 15 and a new concentration in Lisbon on February 19, the Platform of Unions and Associations announced on Tuesday.
The Lisbon rally will take place in Terreiro do Paço, about a month after another in Largo do Carmo, followed by a parade in front of the Assembly of the Republic, where thousands of PSP police and GNR soldiers were present.
A national assembly was scheduled for March 2 to “listen to members,” said a statement from the PSP Trade Union Platform and GNR associations, which met in Lisbon on Tuesday to address “new forms of struggle.”
PSP police officers and GNR soldiers are demanding payment of a mission allowance similar to what was done for PJ.
