A 71-year-old man was arrested on Monday in Maya on suspicion of committing domestic violence against his ex-partner, 61, and her daughter, 23, GNR said in a statement this Wednesday.
Troopers responding to a report of domestic violence responded to the scene and found the victims “being the target of verbal abuse,” a situation that continued in the presence of troopers and led to “their arrest red-handed.” – he explains in a press release.
During the subsequent search of the house, the military seized a baton, a whip, a sword and a knife.
The detainee was named as the accused, and the facts were sent to the Matosinhos court, the guard added.
Domestic violence is a social crime and reporting it is a collective responsibility, the GNR reminds.
Complaints can be submitted through the Electronic Complaints Portal (https://queixaselectronicas.mai.gov.pt), by calling 112 or at the nearest GNR post to your place of residence.
