A 61-year-old man suffered serious injuries this Wednesday after falling from a roof in an industrial accident in Vendas Novas (Evora district), GNR and civil defense sources told Lusa.
A National Republican Guard (NRG) source said the man was taken by helicopter to the García de Orta hospital in Almada, while security forces were told that the victim would later go to the San José hospital in Lisbon.
The accident occurred in Bairro named after General Vasco Gonçalves while the victim was working on a construction site, a Guarda source said.
He added that the Authority at Work (ACT) had been contacted to investigate the circumstances in which the accident occurred.
According to a source from the Subregional Emergency Command and Civil Protection of Central Alentejo, the alarm about the incident was raised at 14:49 with the participation of 14 firefighters from Vendas Novas, the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (INEM) and the GNR. , supported by five vehicles, including an ambulance and medical resuscitation (VMER) and an INEM helicopter.
