Venezuela gave UN workers 72 hours to leave the country

This Thursday, Venezuela suspended the advisory activities of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, citing his “clearly biased and biased” position, and gave his staff 72 hours to leave the country.

“Venezuela announces its decision to suspend the activities of the technical advisory office of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Venezuela,” the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Venezuela, it adds, “will undertake a full review of the terms of technical cooperation described in the Letter of Understanding signed with this office within the next 30 days” and therefore “requests employees assigned to the office to leave the country within the next 30 days.” 72 hours until they publicly and before the international community correct their colonial, abusive position that violates the Charter of the United Nations.”
