The Portuguese won the animation Oscar

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, directed by Portugal’s Joaquim dos Santos and starring Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, was the big winner at the 51st Annie Awards, presented annually by the International Animated Film Society. The new adventure of Miles Morales, the friendly Spider-Man from Brooklyn who is constantly involved in adventures, won seven statuettes (all for which he was nominated), including best animated feature, best direction, best effects and best music.

Considered the “Oscar” of animation, Annie has won animated shorts and features and has also recognized Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Crane (which won two awards) and Nick’s Nimona. Bruno and Troy Quain. The Netflix-released film led the Annie race with nine nominations, but won only two (best voice and best screenplay). The Best Independent Film award went to Robot Dreams, which tells the story of a lonely dog ​​who builds a robot to keep himself company.
