The State Ministry, during the latest arguments in the Gondomar Court, asked this Friday to sentence Vítor Catão to a suspended prison term in his execution in a trial in which former President San Pedro da Cova is tried on suspicion of threatening and coercing prominent football businessman César Boaventura.
With regard to the second accused, who at that time was supposed to accompany Vitor Catao, the Ministry of Public Administration made the same request for punishment.
The lawyer who assists Cesar Boaventura in this process has requested that the defendants be sentenced to effective prison terms.
The former manager of the club from San Pedro da Cova is accused of kidnapping, coercion and threats against businessman Cesar Boaventura.
The accused is also responsible for the crime of illegal recording, for recording and posting videos on the social network Facebook, where you can see how Vitor Catao humiliates Cesar Boaventura.
We are talking about an episode that took place in March 2019, in which Vitor Catao is suspected of setting a trap for a well-known football businessman. The defendant allegedly got into the businessman’s car, attacked him and threatened him with a weapon near the territory of San Pedro da Cova.
Vitor Catao reached an agreement with Cesar Boaventura in the civil part of the process, during this trial, to pay compensation in the amount of 15 thousand euros, which should be delivered to the Benfica Foundation and the Barrosas Association of Felgueiras. The former president of San Pedro da Cova will have to deliver the money within six months.
