The President of the Regional Government of the Azores (PSD/CDS-PP/PPM) said this Sunday that he is calm about the discussion of the executive program, which he considers “a good program”, and believes that there will be a “sense of responsibility” on the part of the opposition parties .

The new coalition government of the PSD, CDU-PP and PPM, which took office on Monday after winning early elections on February 4 but does not have an absolute majority, will hold its first “trial by fire” debate this week. and voting on the XIV government program, which if rejected by an absolute majority will lead to the resignation of the executive branch.

The discussion of the document is scheduled to begin on Wednesday in the regional parliament of the city of Orta.

When asked by journalists this Sunday whether he agreed with the position that the opposition parties will take, Boleiro replied: “My peace of mind comes from my conscience. Then everyone is responsible for themselves. And I am convinced that this will definitely make sense.” responsibility.”

“However, I cannot answer for others. I do this with a sense of political responsibility and stability, as well as with a sense of pluralism and a desire for rapprochement,” he added.

The executive leader of the Azores Coalition spoke to journalists on the sidelines of his vote for the legislative elections, which took place at 11:05 local time (12:05 Lisbon time) in the parish of Fajan de Baixo, in Ponta Delgada, São Island. Miguel.

Bolheiro also guaranteed that he has done and will do everything “to ensure the stability of the government, because it is in the interests of the Azores,” although the decision will be up to the “parliamentary chess players” who will give their opinion on the State program.

He also recalled that his leader will be in “constant dialogue” with political parties that have seats in parliament and with society.

In this sense, he explained that the preparation of the program of the new government, which was based on the electoral program of the PSD/CDU-PP/PPM coalition, has a “contribution” to the research that he himself carried out in relation to the electoral programs of other parties, in order to ensure the same the most “for the people of the Azores and for everyone.”

“Naturally, I informed political parties about this, especially those that did not declare a vote against and, therefore, there were those who, without any analysis of the Government program, took the initiative, in my opinion hasty, to declare a negative vote for the government program supported population,” he explained.
