The 37-year-old, apparently in a psychotic episode, used an ax to try to kill two friends who were with a group of young people in Praia das Asturias, in the city of Guaruja, on the southern coast of the Brazilian state. Sao Paulo. The cries for help of two friends, 21 and 29 years old, alerted other people on the crowded beach that Sunday, and they prevented the attack. The man managed to escape, but was soon detained.
The two friends were attacked as they left the toilet on the beach while away from the rest of the group. With his ax raised, the man ran after them, shouting that he was going to kill them, and the terrified friends began screaming for help and ran as fast as they could towards the group they were with.
Seeing a large number of people on the beach who prevented the crime and tried to stop it, the attacker crashed into a car and fled, pursued by people running behind the car.
The intruder quickly entered the building’s garage and remained locked inside the vehicle until police arrived. He asked the agents not to arrest him because it was Sunday and too beautiful a day for an arrest.
A doorman at another beachfront building told police that a man was already hanging around a group of friends where two young women were being attacked, and that he told him, asking him to keep it a secret, that he was going to kill them all. , one after another, starting with two young women whom he attacked and whom he interrogated before the attack and asked for a lighter with which he lit a cigarette. As the young women left the group to go to the bathroom, the doorman ran up to them and warned them of the man’s intentions, so by the time they left they were already on their guard and managed to avoid the worst.
At the police station, the attacker, accused of attempted murder, says he works as a driver and is studying agribusiness. It was he who told the agents that he was being treated for mental disorders and was taking very strong medications, which, apparently, had no effect.
