Andre Ventura says that “it was not Chega who created this problem” with the election of a new President of the Assembly of the Republic. “Not only did we have an understanding that was destroyed by HELL. He was betrayed. Montenegro preferred to go with the PS rather than with Chega,” he says in an interview with the CMTV program “Grande Jornal”.
“I think yesterday [terça-feira] and the country has already realized that governance does not exist. Unfortunately, I see long-term management,” says Andre Ventura.
The Chega leader says Luis Montenegro “didn’t have the decency to pick up the phone and call the third largest party.” “So you want votes, but you don’t want commitment?” he asks.
Andre Ventura suggests that Chega will be an opposition party. “The funny thing about this situation is that Luis Montenegro has been saying for the last few months that Pedro Nuno Santos [uma má opção] and now, at the first opportunity, she joins him,” he says.
Regarding the policies that Chega defends, Andre Ventura begins by saying that this Thursday we will begin to see whether the parties will deliver what they have promised.
“Whether you like it or not, I did my best to reach an understanding,” he says.
Regarding early elections, Ventura explains that at the moment he does not want this option and that “the Portuguese want stability.”
“Looking at the current parliamentary structure, in early elections Chega could only rule with the PS, and I will never rule with the PS in my life,” he says.
Regarding the elections in Madeira, Andre Ventura makes it clear that “Chega will never have any decision in Madeira with Miguel Albuquerque”, he concludes.
