Smart urinals are being installed in several public toilets in China. These devices are designed to analyze the urine of those who use them and provide some basic information. According to a Chinese news site Post Bastille, anyone willing to take a urine test can pay a fee and the results will appear on the screen in front of them. The test is completed in approximately 2 minutes after reading the code and confirming payment.
While this innovation has generated interest, there are those who question whether the large number of users of these urinals could affect the integrity of the samples and therefore the accuracy of the analysis.
In accordance with Post BastilleCustomer service says it uses cutting-edge technology and conducts tests in hospitals to prove the reliability of the results. However, some medical experts have expressed doubts about the accuracy of these tests compared to those performed in clinical settings.
How is the exam going?
The urinal uses sensors to analyze the composition of the user’s urine. Parameters measured include glucose, proteins, bilirubin and ketone. The results are displayed on the screen or sent to the user’s mobile phone.
