Five men were arrested and four vehicles were confiscated during a PSP traffic inspection to prevent illegal racing in the district of Pontigny, Loures, security forces announced this Thursday.
In a statement, the Lisbon Metropolitan Police Department of Public Security (PSP) said that in an operation that took place on Friday and Saturday, four men were arrested on suspicion of the crime of driving without a legal license and another for drunk driving.
As part of the operation, aimed mainly at monitoring illegal racing that often took place in the area of Pontinha, in the municipality of Loures, in the district of Lisbon, 10 reports of administrative offenses were also drawn up and four vehicles were seized, “namely due to changes in the characteristics of the vehicles without proper approval.”
PSP also indicates that the Loures Police Department will “intensify these types of operations in the near future.”
