The start of the trial in a road accident case in Borba, Évora, was postponed until October due to the health of the presiding judge. Scheduled dates are no longer valid.
The facts date from the afternoon of November 19, 2018. A section of about 100 meters in length of the municipal road 255 (EM255), connecting Borba with Vila Visoza, collapsed due to a landslide of stones, marble blocks and earth for two quarries.
The first session is scheduled for October 3, with 10 more meetings scheduled for the same month and seven more in November. The trial will take place in the Evora court.
The accident killed two workers of a marble quarry company and three other men in two vehicles traveling along the collapsed section of the road.
There are six defendants in the case, Camara de Borba and the heirs of the company responsible for the work.
