“Anita”, a dog between 12 and 14 years old, was rescued from an abused and neglected home in Porto. He joined the association “Com Raça”, skeletal, with a sickening odor, full of drool and blood. One of the features that impressed the rescue team was that the animal had no tongue due to squamous cell carcinoma.
While there is nothing that can change the situation, the association is calling for “a dignified end for the dog” and an adoption that will allow her to receive the “love and comfort” she deserves.
“Anita survived hell on earth, without a tongue, and showed all people the meaning of the word resilience! Therefore, it would be unfair for us not to try to give her a fitting end to her life, with love and comfort! Anita is very needy and simply needs a family that understands their whole story and provides a dignified end to life, which, unfortunately, is closer than we would like,” reads a message published on social networks “Com Raça”.
According to the association, due to the advanced stage of Anita’s disease, euthanasia was considered. “NWe don’t want her to leave us without knowing what it’s like to have someone who loves her, cares for her and doesn’t receive affection!
The dog was hospitalized but has since been released. According to the pros, you can eat, drink and not drool anymore. “Let’s try to find the perfect family so that their life can be the way it should have always been,” they urge.
