The Judicial Police (SP) detained a 58-year-old man on suspicion of committing crimes related to the kidnapping and attempted rape of an 18-year-old girl in Silves.
The victim was at the train station on December 29 when the alleged aggressor offered to give him a ride home. The girl agreed to the trip, and during the trip, instead of going to her home, the man “went to the shipyard where he lives”, stopped the car inside and closed the gate so that the victim could not escape, according to a press release. from PJ.
The man squeezed the neck of the victim until he lost consciousness and dragged him to a wooden house near the shipyard, where they were. During the process, the victim woke up, managed to escape and, jumping over the fence, managed to ask for help from the car, which was not far from the alleged crime scene.
After investigating the facts, the SP and the NDP detained a suspect, a carpenter by profession.
The detainee will be present at the first judicial examination for the application of such coercive measures as he deems appropriate.
