A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene of a crime in Abrantes for the crime of domestic violence for “attacking his mother”, the Santarem PSP District Command announced this Thursday.
According to PSP, the man was arrested on Sunday by agents from the Abrantes Police Station after officers were called “to the scene.”
“A patrol car was called to the scene and police observed several screams coming from inside the home asking for help and assistance,” the PSP statement said, adding that the suspect opened the door of the home after police identified themselves.
Also according to PSP, “the victim was found lying on the ground with obvious injuries and with blood stained clothing, immediately describing the attack he had just suffered at the hands of his son.”
The police then detained the suspect, who was taken to a “detention cell at the Abrantes police station”, where he remained until he was brought to court two days later.
“The detainee was presented to the judicial authorities on April 16 for the first judicial interrogation in the Santarem court and the application of coercive measures in the form of a ban on contact with the victim, a ban on visiting the victim’s place of residence and the obligation of the accused to undergo drug treatment. to alcoholic substances,” the note says.
