CP warns of “serious disruption” to traffic between Feb. 8 and Feb. 17 due to the strike.

CP, Comboios de Portugal, warned this Friday of “serious violations” of treatment from 8 to 17 February in all services due to strikes called by several unions.

“We inform you that due to the strikes organized by the National Union of Portuguese Railways (SMAQ), the National Union of Railway Workers (SNTSF) and the Sindicato Ferroviário da Revisão Comercial Itinerante (SFRCI), between 00:00 8 February 2023 and 24:00 on February 21, 2023, there will be serious interruptions in circulation in all services from February 8 to February 17,” SR said in a note published on the website.

The company also indicated that the information will be updated if the arbitration court determines the minimum services.

“Customers who have already purchased tickets for travel on Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Internacional, InterRegional and Regional trains will be allowed a refund of the total amount of the purchased ticket or its free re-checking on another train of the same category and in the same direction. the same class,” added CP, regretting the inconvenience.

Fectrans announced on 25 January that workers from CP and Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) would go on strike on 9 February due to a lack of response to proposals for wage increases.

“The management of SNTSF/Fectrans at the meeting held this Friday decided to send a strike notice to CP, IP-Infraestruturas, IP-Telecom, IP-Patrimóvel and IP-Engenharia on February 9, which will last 24 hours.” ,” the note said.

The problem lies in the lack of response of the two companies to proposals for wage increases.

For unions, the proposals presented are “far short of” the values needed to restore workers’ purchasing power.
