A 60-year-old man was left with a broken leg in an accident while repairing a car in Castelo de Paiva this Thursday evening.
As Correio da Mañan told Correio da Mañan, a source at the Subregional Command for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of Tamega e Sousa and the Volunteer Firefighters of Castelo de Paiva, the man was carrying out maintenance work when, for unknown reasons, a vehicle that was about to be lifted ended up falling on top of him. According to the same source, when rescuers arrived, the victim’s legs were trapped under the car.
Volunteer firefighters from Castelo de Paiva were mobilized to the scene, as well as the ambulance and resuscitation (VMER) from the Padre America Hospital and the GNR, which took responsibility for the incident.
According to the Correio da Manhã, this is the second accident of this kind in a week in Castelo de Paiva.
