According to a civil protection source, a collision of four passenger cars on additional route (IC) 8 at the Kastelu intersection in Serta resulted in two injuries and worsened traffic this Friday.
According to the Beira Baixa Subregional Emergency and Civil Protection Command, the accident alert was issued at 8:24 a.m. and traffic is restricted on the IC 8 section between the Castelo intersection and Pedrogão Grande.
The same source said the accident damaged four cars and caused minor injuries to two men and women, aged 84 and 85, respectively.
“Two slightly wounded people were transported by ambulance from the volunteer fire department of Serta to the hospitals of the University of Coimbra,” he added.
Five vehicles and 13 Serta and GNR volunteer firefighters were mobilized to the scene.
