More than 70 students aged 18 to 23 from the Faculty of Law of the University of Minho were hospitalized after suffering from food poisoning following a dinner last Friday at a restaurant located in the Forum of Braga.

CMOne student who attended the dinner explains that several colleagues began showing symptoms on Saturday morning.
“They were constantly vomiting, they couldn’t keep anything in their stomachs, some even lost consciousness, they had dizziness, headaches and diarrhea,” explains the young woman.
Dinner included starters and a choice of duck rice or creamed cod. “We were treated very poorly, but we didn’t expect to get food poisoning,” he guarantees. “I didn’t have any symptoms, but there were more people who felt unwell but didn’t go to the hospital. My colleague had these symptoms tonight. She went to the hospital and they already knew what it was.” he adds. .
The students were treated in hospitals in Braga, Famalicana, Guimarães and Povoa de Varzima. For what CM As it turned out, all the young people hospitalized in Braga, about 60 years old, have already been discharged.
“We just don’t want this situation to happen to other people,” says the student.

CM, the restaurant owner guarantees that the dishes were prepared from 18:00 on Friday afternoon. “Everything was done on the spot, but I am interested in people’s health. So far, not a single competent structure has contacted this,” he says.
“I have samples of the food served. Now I want to analyze them to understand what is happening, I just want this situation to be clarified,” he emphasizes. The owner also claims that there were 32 other people in another room who ate the same dishes and did not complain.
