Timorese Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao this Thursday appointed Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Agio Pereira as an interlocutor in discussions on the Greater Sunrise gas field, the Timorese government announced.
Agio Pereira will act as “an interlocutor in discussions with Steve Bracks, Australia’s Special Representative for Greater Sunrise Development” to “facilitate communication, relay information and help build understanding between the two governments.”
“The development of Greater Sunrise is a strategic priority for Timor-Leste with the aim of establishing the foundations of a sustainable economy and providing social benefits and opportunities to the Timorese people,” emphasizes the Timorese government.
